The major function of the Food Chemistry and Nutrition Division is to give support to the commercialization activities of the Institute by offering analytical services to Industry, local and International students, as well as training for students. In addition, the Division conducts applied research relating to chemical contaminants (Toxicology and heavy metals) in foods and feeds as well as food flavour (aroma) analyses. The Division also offers consultancy services and advice to clients. The Division comprises three Sections, namely Chemistry Mycotoxin / Accreditation Section, Chemistry Analytical Services Section and Nutrition Research Section.
